Senior Server Side Developer

Server Side Developer (£35K) - Start ASAP
What can we offer you?
Positive Change is a small company and although we have been around for nearly five years, we have been very small up until now.
We are expanding rapidly and as a result we are looking for initial key team members who will take the company forward technically.
You will be able to help make the development enviroment and processes your own and really shape the way the company goes forward
technically.
This is a perfect opportunity for a mid range developer who wants more responsability, wants the time to learn more
skills but also have the experience of a senior developer at hand to help if needed. We also will provide time for learning for exams
and new technology.
As we take on more members of the team, you will be able to co-ordinate the projects technically and if appropriate mentor junior
team members.
The projects that we will be working on, will be fast paced and use some of the latest technology.
We will be based in Covent Garden so we will have access to all sorts of restuarants and bars for socialising.

Your skills
We are looking for someone to join our company who has at least two years c# and .net experience building websites and applications
preferably for an online agency or corporate / SME.
You will be able to build most things using .net 2.0 and sqlserver 2005, XML etc but help is at hand for
more complicated projects. You will need to understand and have used most of the standard .net namespaces.
You will need a good understanding of the issues surrounding web development, such a maintaining state etc, database issues, performance
etc and some experience of integrating things like Flash and Video woulld be good.
As well as the technical requirements, the most important aspect of this role is to help grow and shape the future
technical team and our technical capabilites, learn the latest technology so we can always offer the best solutions in the market place,
produce quality code in a timely manner and work with the technical architect / client manager to meet client requirements.
The right person for this role will want to join a start up company and to be able to help shape their own role within the
company, face the challenges of this and the excitement. It is an amazing opportunity for someone who wants to learn, is self motivated
and wants to develop leadership qualities.
You will also be responsible for helping and mentoring more junior members of the team.

Client Side Developer (£25-35K) - December start
What can we offer you?
Positive Change focuses mainly on marketing agencies and their end client's web sites and applications. This is an exciting time
for the online marketing industry, because a lot of new technologies and advancements in search marketing (SEO), web 2.0,
AJAX and other client side technologies has led to an increasing demand for more sophisticated campaigns and optimisations.
We would like you to push this area of the business forward by maximising our capabilites in front end development.
You will be able to use the latest technologies and research to provide the very best user interfaces for applications on the web.
This position offers you the chance to research the very latest technologies, propose those technologies to the busienss and our
clients and then to implement that technology. You will be able to guide your own development within the role to be working on
the very best available.
It will be your role to advise us on topics such as:
Search Engine Optimisation (SEO), Accessability, Cross Browser, Cross Operating System
You will need to have at least two years experience creating cross browser compatible websites for a media agency and be
able to build complex front end code using XHTML, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, DOM Scripting, W3C standards etc. You will be able to cut
up graphics using photoshop or fireworks and create accessible and search engine friendly layouts from these designs.
You will test your code on the latest browsers on Macs and Windows operating systems and using web testing various tools.
You will also need to work with server side developers to integrate your code into the .net framework.
It would be beneficial to have Flash Actionscript experience and integrating Flash / Video into web pages but this is not essential.

in the industry.
We hold fortnightly knowledge sessions to keep all staff up to date with the latest news (both technical and industry)
and everyone can participate in sharing what they have leant at these meetings.

You can also have some time to learn for appropriate exams if you wish. Positive Change as the name suggests has a very friendly
