Julie Wilce - CBT Therapist
About me

Hello and welcome. My name is Julie, and I’m a CBT therapist. I believe that effective therapy grows from a genuine connection and a foundation of trust. Whether you’re feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or simply wanting to better understand yourself, it can make a real difference to talk with someone who listens in a way that helps you feel truly heard and understood.

My Approach

I offer a supportive, collaborative space to explore what matters most to you and to work towards meaningful, lasting change. Since completing an Honours Level Diploma in CBT & Groupwork from The Centre of Therapy in Glasgow, I have trained in online counselling through the OU in partnership with the BACP and CPCAB, which equips me to offer professional, safe, and effective sessions from anywhere.

Individual
CBT Therapy

I offer one-to-one Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT) for adults experiencing a range of difficulties, including:

  • Anxiety and panic

  • Low mood or depression

  • Stress and overwhelm

  • Low self-esteem or confidence issues

  • Coping with life changes

My approach is supportive, collaborative and practical. I draw from evidence-based therapies such as CBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Compassion-Focused Therapy (CFT) to help you understand your experiences, develop effective coping strategies and make meaningful, lasting changes in your life.

I also offer a free 15-minute consultation so you can get a sense of how I work and decide whether I feel like the right fit for you.

Family Therapy & Parent Support

With over 25 years of experience as a social worker, I have a strong background in working alongside individuals and families affected by trauma and abuse. Much of my work has focused on supporting parents and carers through a therapeutic parenting model.

Since qualifying as a CBT therapist, I’ve extended this interest into Parent-Led CBT — an approach that can be especially supportive for families where children are struggling with anxiety, which is sadly becoming increasingly common.

I’m passionate about empowering parents and carers with tools, strategies and confidence to support their children’s emotional wellbeing, and creating a safe, collaborative space where families can work towards positive, sustainable change together.
